Take M4 west. Go to Junction 49. Continue on M4 to next roundabout.
Continue on M4 (A48) and exit on turning marked Porthryd and Nantgaredig and also marked in brown 'The National Botanic Garden of Wales'. This is 80 miles from the new Severn Bridge.
Take signs to Nantgaredig, go past Botanic Gardens entrance and Y Polyn restaurant, and when you come to a T turn right and then immediately left. Cross Nantgaredig Bridge. This is the bottom of the beat.
Continue to T and turn right onto A40. Go a couple of miles into Pontargothi.
For Fishing Lodge - Turn right immediately after bridge before Cothi Bridge Hotel. Continue past Abercothi House for ½ mile down land to Abercothi Farm. The Fishing Lodge is on your left.

2010 Season - 24 Aug. A 15lbs salmon landed, and returned, from the College Pool this morning. Nice few sewin coming out the last few days and fish seem to be throughout the beats and sewin being caught regularly, including a number of double figure fish. The total is around 300 sewin which is encouraging. Abercothi has had similar numbers too. The third night time sewin fishing course run by Jamie Harries and Illtyd Griffiths has just finished and was very successful again. 2009 Season - Well over 400 sewin landed and 50 salmon at Golden Grove. This includes twenty sewin of ten pounds or more. Around two thirds released.
